On behalf of the CBD Association and its member companies, we are submitting comments concerning the Interim Final Rule for the U.S. Domestic Hemp Program (the “IFR”).1
The CBD Association (CBDA) is the only 501(c)(6) non-profit trade association established in Washington, D.C. that exclusively and holistically promotes CBD and cannabis-derived products worldwide. CBDA engages policymakers at all levels of government to advocate for its members. CBDA represents growers, processors, suppliers, manufacturers, brand owners, retailers and other associated businesses representing CBD and cannabis-derived products.
According to the recent data, sales of hemp-derived CBD products and cannabis-derived products are projected to surpass $15 – 20 billion in the U.S. by 2024. This suggests the importance for growers, manufacturers, brand owners and retailers to understand the role of hemp in the natural products category.
